Name: Sherlock Holmes (© Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
Age: 30s-40s
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Uncertain, though there have been rumors regarding Watson
Physical Description: Tall and thin, clean-shaven and well-kempt; neat black hair and cool, grey eyes; aquiline nose; graceful, long-fingered hands
Modus Operandi (good/evil/neutral): inherently good, but may waive governmental/systematic punishment of criminals in lieu of his own manner of reconciliation or if he deems the circumstances right
Profession: consulting detective
Location: 221B Baker Street, London
Back-story: Stumbled into the Cities with Watson while examining a large grandfather clock which may or may not have factored in the murder they were investigating (Holmes is quite certain the murder weapon was hidden inside, and is now lost somewhere in the Clockwork Realm). The detective is confident that he and his partner will find a way back to London and finish the case (since Time is meaningless here, Holmes reasons, it is likely they will return at around the same time they disappeared from their world), but until then, Holmes and Watson reside in 221 Baker Street, Clockwork London, and work as consultants for the police force of this realm.
Personal Traits: Extremely knowledgeable in all subjects related to solving mysteries as London's greatest detective. He can be equally both abrasive and polite when the mood or necessity strikes him, and often has little patience for incompetent members of the police force and visitors who do not bring him any sort of challenge. He is highly practical and rational, but a genuine friend to Watson. His lofty speech and attitude can either put people off or cause feelings of admiration. Holmes experiences intense periods of excitement and focus—especially when on an engaging case—as well as periods of lethargy and moodiness—most often when there is no challenging case to be had.
Weaknesses: Doyle, as Watson, once wrote: "1. Knowledge of Literature. -- Nil. 2. "" Philosophy. -- Nil. 3. "" Astronomy. -- Nil. 4. "" Politics. -- Feeble." (A Study in Scarlet) Bad habit of shooting cocaine; Watson often complains about this.
Strengths: "5. "" Botany. -- Variable. Well up in belladonna, opium, and poisons generally. Knows nothing of practical gardening. 6. Knowledge of Geology. -- Practical, but limited. Tells at a glance different soils from each other. After walks has shown me splashes upon his trousers, and told me by their colour and consistence in what part of London he had received them. 7. Knowledge of Chemistry. -- Profound. 8. Anatomy. -- Accurate, but unsystematic 9. Sensational Literature. -- Immense. He appears to know every detail of every horror perpetrated in the century. 10. Plays the violin well. 11. Is an expert singlestick player, boxer, and swordsman. 12. Has a good practical knowledge of British law" (A Study in Scarlet, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) Has memorized every street, by-way, back alley, and building in London. Expert actor and master of disguise. Reads people with ease. Utilizes the "Science of Deduction." Keeps files on foremost criminals and people of note around the world
Fears: no known fears, though one may appear sooner or later…
Quirks: Often plays the violin in a very aimless manner when working on a problem, though he can play a wide array of classical pieces with ease, and does so to appease Watson once he has completed his thoughts. Usually smokes either cigarettes or a clay pipe, but utilizes a long, cherry-wood pipe if he is in an irritated mood.
Extra Details: appearance and are character heavily based on Doyle's books, though some conflagration with other adaptations occurs occasionally where character development is involved

Disillusioned
The world seemed to be in the regular habit of testing John's patience. Often to the very limits of it, trying the prim lines until they gave away, and there was nothing left but to do something.
Listening to Sherlock talk was one thing, but watching him talk was quite another. Every lip-bite, every flicker of tongue licking away coffee was another push, another poke, and the buckram of longanimity started to fringe rapidly, irreversibly, the unravelling creating another force altogether.
"Sherlock."
"What?"
It was as if time itself had enough respect towards the last frail threads holding John together, since apparently it had slowed dow

"Really, Watson. Do you plan to stand there all day?" Holmes grabbed a pair of trousers from the near-by chair and stepped haphazardly into them, rather enjoying the way Watson turned his head away non-to-subtly, trying to hide the fact that he was blushing most profusely.
"Not at all, Holmes. I rather wish, though, that you would stop walking around the house naked."
Having successfully pulled the trousers up and fastened them so that they would not fall back down, the detective straightened up, a smug grin on his face. "I wasn't walking anywhere."
Watson rolled his eyes. "You know fine well what I meant."
"Why are you so adverse

The Case of the Missing Will
It was a cold, rainy Monday. Everyone hates Mondays and this one really deserved it. The weather changed its mind from hour to hour. When it was not raining, freezing wind was sweeping over the dirty streets, forcing people to stay at home. As an umbrella was impossible to use, when someone was brave enough to venture coming out from their warm house, they had two options. Either they could wear a cap taking the chance that the first hard gust of wind would snatch it from their head or leave it at home and go out with bare head, risking frostbitten ears. I chose the second option.

I noticed a call for a better police force in the Clockwork Cities, and it seemed to me that what they needed was a pair of good consulting detectives.
